Discover community, safety, and comfort at our independent living scheme open days
Looking for a place to live that offers independence with a strong sense of community? Prospective residents and their families are invited to come along to our Independent Living Scheme open days this September. You’ll be able to view the facilities and accommodation and get a real feel for what life is like in our welcoming communities.
Who can move into an independent living schemes?
If you have a disability or find living in your existing home difficult, a flat or bungalow in an independent living scheme could make your life easier. This type of accommodation is suitable for people with lower level support needs as scheme managers are unable to offer any personal or medical care. Applicants should be aged 60 years and over, although in some schemes and circumstances we will consider applicants aged 40 and over.
What to expect
Our independent living schemes offer self-contained flats and bungalows where residents have the key to their own front door and can come and go as they please. Some schemes have accommodation all under one roof; others consist of bungalows with a community centre nearby. The schemes offer a range of social activities, and each scheme has some shared facilities such as a communal lounge, kitchen, and laundry. The schemes offer a sense of safety and security and opportunities to get involved and make new friends.
Come and see for yourself!
Each open day will feature:
- Refreshments and friendly chats with residents and staff
- A look around the facilities, including communal areas and private flats
- Activities including bingo, coffee mornings, and even free hair cuts!
