Fundraising for Barnsley Hospice this Christmas
Colleagues came together for a Christmas quiz and Elf Run to raise money for Barnsley Hospice, who provide specialist care to people in our communities.
Over £1,900 was raised this week including a generous £1,500 donation from BAAS Construction Ltd, who help us to carry out essential work on Barnsley’s council homes. This comes on top of donations they’ve made on our behalf to Alzheimer’s Research UK and Cancer Research UK, so we’re grateful for their commitment to supporting these charities.
Amanda Garrard, Chief Executive, said: “It’s great to get colleagues together to raise money for Barnsley Hospice, our chosen charity for 2025/26. They provide specialist palliative and end of life care for people in our communities, and we know that every penny raised will be used to make a difference.”
Stuart Harrison, Commercial Director at BAAS, said: “Following our initial donation earlier in 2025 to Barnsley Hospice through Berneslai Homes, we were truly touched and inspired by the outstanding work and compassionate care they deliver to individuals and families across Barnsley.
“It is therefore an absolute pleasure to continue our support for this exceptional charity, particularly at this time of year, when the work of organisations such as Barnsley Hospice is more important than ever.”
Simon Atkinson, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Barnsley Hospice, said: “It’s really humbling to reflect on the tremendous efforts of all our supporters as we come to the end of 2025 and at Berneslai Homes, their continued support has been nothing short of amazing.
“The outstanding care we provide to local people and their families when they need it most is only possible thanks to such generosity and we honestly cannot stress our gratitude to every single one of you.”
