Partnership working to transform ASB management
We use Case Management Solutions Group’s (CSMG) ASB App and ASB Respect Line to manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) in our communities.
This provides a way for tenants to report ASB using an app and a dedicated phoneline to report issues outside of normal office hours. The digital reporting tools in the app helped us to improve reporting and capture real-time evidence for cases.
It was important for us to use a system that provided a seamless way to manage cases involving different organisations – for example where we need Barnsley Council’s help with enforcement action or environmental health intervention.
Since 2025, we’ve worked with CSMG and Barnsley Council to extend the ASB App and ASB Respect Line across the borough, enabling us and the council to work from the same system. CSMG’s ‘transfer case’ tool within the app helps us to easily share information with Barnsley Council, including the full history of an ASB case.
The key benefits to tenants includes:
- A simple way to report new information.
- Confidence that information isn't lost when cases escalate.
- Continuing to use the same ASB App and ASB Respect Line they're familiar with, without needing to relay information to different organisations.
A more coordinated approach means we’re able to:
- Escalate cases that need enforcement action without losing oversight.
- Keep a full view of case history for monitoring purposes.
- Share information on ASB patterns in our communities.
Jayne Ambrose, ASB Team Leader, said: “Effectively tackling anti-social behaviour is fundamental to making sure tenants feel safe and supported in their homes. Through strong partnership working with Barnsley Council’s Safer Neighbourhood Services, we can improve communication, make timely and informed decisions, and closely monitor cases. The collaborative use of the ASB App and Respect Line strengthens our joint approach to investigating and addressing anti-social behaviour, providing a consistent and accessible reporting process for tenants.”
Ben Hunt, Managing Director at Case Management Solutions Group, said: "This partnership between Berneslai Homes and Barnsley Council shows the true meaning of collaboration, working closely together, pooling resources and sharing services to deliver a genuinely multi-agency approach to ASB management. CMSG plays a small but crucial role in this partnership: we provide the information and evidence that enables both organisations to make informed decisions quickly, supporting the seamless coordination that residents deserve."
